Halfbaked Secret 1 - Completed!

Li Wei's Surprise Party

(completed!!)

The whole surprise thingy was arranged by email/sms/phone calls.
Everything was so top secret.
Didn't even know the whole plan till the day itself.

and...

It's been about 3billion years since I've stepped foot on any type of chalets.
(It's for young people and I'm definitely wayyy past that.)

The surprise took place at an ulu place in Pasir Ris.
Is it NTUC chalets?
Only remember that the swimming pool there have got loads of ashes from all the BBQing.
EEeeks!

Got a ride from Em.
Was supposed to meet the girls at Toa Payoh.
=)
I was late again...what's new?
=x
When we finally reached, realized that we were the 2nd batch of people to arrive.
The 1st being Ying & Mel who've been helping out since the afternoon.

On pretext of putting down our bags...we invaded the air-conditioned room.
hahahha!
And took tau-pok to a whole new level.

Press...Press...
I must flatten their chest...

This is the first time I see Ariel looking so angelic.
(Check out the above pic on the bottom left corner.)

The little girl fascinated with the ah pek(old man) frames.

When I was younger, I wanted to wear glasses too.
It looked cool. I was so wrong.
Well, it's one of those things.

In the midst of our boisterousness...
we managed to interrogate the mastermind.

She gave us a rather in-depth explanation and
I'm still in awe, she took the time and thought out all the possibilities...

(mastermind playing through the whole scenario...)

Anyway,
Em was appointed official Cake Caretaker.
Hee!
Mel/Ying the official middle persons to pick up The Call...
to tell the Cake Caretaker to bring the cake out.

While the mastermind was out picking up the potential victim.
We entertained ourselves many many...

And then we got The Call.

EMILY!!

READY!
ACTION!

=p

So Em brought the cake out and the other girls helped to stuff in the candles.
(I just realized the cake have got lots of stars.)

Secret Receipe's Banana Chocolate cake.
(craving cake now...-_-)

Can't remember if Em was like giving instructions or whatever but from the pic it seems like it la.
hahaha!
Wah...then everyone kept so quiet.
Think our neighbours were quite intrigued and their volume went down slightly too.
(but in the end LW still could hear them la...hahaha!)

Then everything happened in a blur for me 'coz didn't wear glasses and suddenly
Li Wei (in blindfolds!) already very near our chalet with Carrine guiding him,
so he doesn't fall flat on his face.

And then once he was directly in front of the chalet.
Em stood facing him with the cake.

I'm assuming after one takes off a blindfold, they'll have some sort of tunnel vision...
and all LW could see was the cake and Em...
Think LW was not surprised.
He was shocked.
ahahhaha!
Hence, this pic...

Then we sang the Happy Birthday song.
Our neighbours were really high and joined in the sing along.
(Youth = Spontaniety = High)

After the clapping...time to cut cake.

LW still stunned.
The boy obviously needed some time to calm down and absorb the atmosphere.

At this point, my heart was beating so fast.
Swear if I had heart problems,
would have had a heart attack right there and then.

So anyway, after the SURPRISE!
We ate...ate...ate and ate some more.
Take pictures and gossip...

It was at the chalet where we made the date for our KTV session.
hee!
=)

Take picture...take picture...take picture of people eating...

Did the Yum Seng come before or after the speech?

Somwhere along the night, everyone did a toast.
*Yuuuummmm Seeengggggg*
(Practice for future wedding dinner?)

Then LW gave a mini speech.
To thank all the peeps who came from all corners of Sg to come give him a shock.
Despite everyone's busy schedule, they still came on his very special day.
OMG!
Are you feeling the love LW??

I'm sure he did la, and then he thanked his lovely mastermind...
with a 뽀뽀.
*muacks!*

Me being the slow reactor, did not get to take the pic of the actual kiss.
Darn it!
I got a posed one instead. -_-

oohhh ohh oh!
'I'm using Canon 80 IS...she's using Canon 80 15'
That night,
found out that LW have got the same camera as Dawnie and I.
Canon Ixus 80 IS.
Canon rocks!
But seriously the print on the camera,
Canon Ixus 80 IS, looks like a 5.
And it's not a problem with my eyes!!

***

We sang K!
Woo!
We need to practice more!
hahahha!
It was fun people!
Singing off-key is WOOHOO!!!
Still high!
Too much oxygen?

Today I found out that CP's voice is bloody loud.

2.5 girls - Gossip! over Subway.

After the swim, we had Subway for dinner.

Fi and I were gonna eat 6" each.
We shared a foot long so it would be a better deal.
At first Fi asked me to choose the filling that I wanted,
she said 'Anything...'
Remember, it's after some exercise...
Knowing what was gonna come, I said,
"Ok...Veggie Delight..."

hahahha!
The look Fi gave me was priceless.
(like the speechless, incredulous look when you've sprouted an antenna or 2...)
Finally she said,
"Can we have a little bit of meat or not?"

Didn't want to take the usual Turkey breast as it's high in salt.

Wanting to try something new, decided on the chicken breast.
Oven baked Chicken Breast. WooHoo!
Subway is bestest!!
And it's good!

After buying a club sandwhich for orange girl, we went back to find the others
but they weren't at the usual place.
So we hung out at McDs while waiting for orange girl.
McDs is like temptation island.
I want french fries...
I want ice-cream...
I want burger...
NoNoNoNoNonononooooooooooooooooooooo!
(I stole 3 fries from Fi! hahah!)

When you put 3...i mean 2.5 crazy girls together,
all sorts of topics will be discussed!

Anyway, let me try and recall the gossip/topics we covered...
  • boys (as usual...their quirks, our stupidity...)
  • work (about bad timing at the office, suppliers and their offerings...)
  • collagen (how they don't work, we shld just sleep and eat right.)
  • karaoke on sunday (box or party world which is better?)
  • slimming creams (how they burn down the fats, how you shld not bathe with kimchi slimming cream.)
  • bits and pieces of li wei's party (which I shld update but too lazy to.)
  • friends (how everyone's got their own idiosyncrasies...like how I'm not normal)
  • threading (ahahhaha!)
Did I miss anything out?

Anyway...
Threading
we've hatched out a semi-plan to meet up on one of Dawnie's lunch breaks
to thread our gorilla faces.
And we're gonna ask threadist(?) if anyone's ever tried threading
in places where the sun dont shine.
Wonder if she'll give us a discount.

Did you know I'm a fan of Agyness Deyn?

Her sense of style is wierd but it works for her!
Reminds me a little of Rui En.

Justin's birthday - Bolt, Chinese Buffet and Yangtze Cinema...what!?

Happy Birthday to Justin!

- 8 Dec 2008 -

I was late, as usual.
But the birthday boy was even later than I was.
hahahaaa!

Dawnie couldn't join us 'coz she had to bring her mom to see the doctor.
(btw, I diagnose her mom with gastric flu by sms! how cool is that...ahaha! Dawnie, I'll give you my name card soon!)

We watched BOLT at CineLeisure.
And I got the shock of my life when I found out movie tickets are now $10!!!
*fainted*

So expensive!
But still...lots of people milling about at the cinema.
What recession?
Didn't expect much from this show, haven't even heard of it prior to Gerry's suggestion.

Gerry!!
Bolt is a white German Shepherd!
hahaha!
Not a Westie as assumed.
(though bolt's head is damn big compared to his body...)

The posters in Korea would look like this!
WOOHOO!!

It reminds me of a cross between The Truman Show, Homeward Bound & Kim Possible!
The starting was quite dark and really not your typical cartoon.
I could feel myself tensing up initially.
But after you get the story line, the flow was good.

The dialogue is so funny, the people around me were laughing every other 5mins.
That's at least!
The loudest person in the theater was sitting next to me!
Kakaka!
The unlikely trio will definitely entertain.
The fat deluded hamster might have stolen the spotlight from Bolt,
if not for the last part where...

*SPOILER ALERT!!!*
Bolt saved his human...
*SPOILER ALERT!!!*

I think the moral of the story is :

Dig deeper!
Your eyes may deceive you.

So after our wonderful show,
we met up with Eugene & his many other friends(a.k.a strangers...) for dinner.
(This person don't wanna watch Bolt then don't let XiaoYing watch also...tsk tsk)

Chinese 'wedding dinner' buffet thingy at Neil Road.
We were the only customers!
Wahhh...
Apparently, they deal mainly with tour groups.
So I guess this could be why the waitresses seem to be rather stand-offish.
Tour groups will come and go no matter how you serve.
Most likely they'll never serve the same person again anyway,
might as well serve the way they feel like.

Even so...
I liked the kai lan and mango pudding!
Wooo!

And if you can't tell,
I was fascinated with the chopsticks as well.
=)

The 3 pics below are the ones I like best!
The favorit-est one would be the one on the left hand side.
The background is so pretty!!
(except for the 'kwa tio gui' face)
Have bougainvillea some more!

And our monochrome theme.
hahha!

NC16 content.
Pls read with care!

- Yangtze Cinema -

On the way home to the bus stop, we passed by the infamous Yangtze cinema.
I wonder how long this cinema will keep going.
One fine day the old men will ALL pass on, will the uncles from MY generation
continue to patronize this place when they too become old and wrinkled?

Anyhow, guess what Justin's teacher once said about this place.
Take a guess!
It's fun!

.
.
.
.

Got it yet?

.
.
.
.

Come on!
.
.
.
.

Tick Tock!
.
.
.
.

The answer is...

.
.
.
.

"The floor's very sticky."

hahahah!
Did you get it right?

Nonsense XXX & Happy Birthday Ena! greetings from Hey Hey Hotpot & P.osh Brownies

Woke up this morning with a neck and shoulder strain,
washed my face and looked into the mirror.
Saw a stranger in the reflection.

WAH LAU!!!
I forgot! that my hair is
no longer messy and mop like.

Really woke up when I realize my hair is back to being short.
haiiiiiiya!

Anyways, yesterday was fun!
But my Love Me Program has gone to the dogs.

The storm hit early afternoon and I was late for work.
No students came for swimming till the last hour.
1 little girl called Trisha!!!
hahaha!

In between the wait...
We were sooo BORED!

Gerry tried to do some work,
CK tending to the shop, make sure no one steals anything.
hahah!
Jeremy in between breaking window grills was
thinking of tidying and shifting the shelves in the shop.
He just wants to
RENOVATE!!
I was reading newspaper.

The funniest & gross-est(?) thing happened when
(to protect the rep of the not so innocent, the person in question will now be called XXX from here on.)
XXX spotted some laminated number cards.
The kind that beauty contestants use to pin on their clothes.
Only bigger.

First XXX put it over XXX's head and pranced ard.
I laughed so hard when I saw that,
'coz it immediately reminded me of
something in Thailand.
And then XXX got a brain wave and went to imitate
with the help of a pen,
the exact thing I was reminded about.

Do you know what I'm talking about?
Hint : Use your imagination.

The gross-est one is probably it!

When the photo opportunity arose, I couldn't ignore it.
Sadly the picture with the pen couldn't really be seen clearly.

So XXX's friend, chipped in with the help of some durian paste
thingy that's wrapped in plastic.

O.M.Goodness!!!
This time, I laughed till I was sitting on the floor lo.

We got so rowdy Gerry threatened to throw us out of the shop.
MUAHAHAHAAaaaAAAaa!!

But she wouldn't have done so la!
She was laughing also...enjoying the drama.
Accomplice!!
=X

Ena's mini Birthday Celebration

It was impromptu, the where and what time all made at the last minute
First we wanted to go Rice Table but it was fully booked.
On a thurs...
So disappointed!
But nothing we can do.

Then we were ping-ponging between a Thai buffet a River Valley,
a dunno what at Bugis and then finally Tao's.
Yes, the one that's always advertising on TV.

So was to meet up at Dhoby Ghaut with the babes.
And since we're at the place where they have the
(try and say it in 1 breath!)
I've-heard-about-them-from-a-long-time-ago-ever-since-Grace-put-the-thought-into-my-head-that-it's-so-yummy brownies,
I thought we should get a birthday brownie for Ena as a suprise
since we didn't get her a birthday cake.

And guess what!!!

We saw Ena there...

HAHAHAHHAaaaaa!!!!
no la...

Met Fi right in front of the place 'coz she also had the same thot,
you know what they say about great minds...
*wink*

Digress: We always end up NOT meeting at the place we say we're going to meet at!!
Super alot of mis-com.
I need to go for PR and EQ lessons!

Finally found P.osh.
We wanted the ones that say 'Happy Birthday'
but those have got to be ordered in advance.
So we bought our brownies individually.
They're so pretty!
=)

The shop's at Dhoby Ghaut Exchange.
Swear it's the first time I've been there, I need to get out more!
Is Gerry holding a pie from Pie-Kia, the store next to P.osh?
I've not tried those before, is it good?

We made our way to Paradiz Centre and waited for Ena & CP.
Standing in front of Tao's we were frozen by the aircon vents,
blasting with their 50023 horse power might.

And even though Fi had already booked at Tao's,
the birthday girl preferred hot pot and buffet
which came in the form of Hey Hey Hotpot,
which was on the left of Tao's.

CK told the person-in-charge that we'd change our minds.
He was obviously quite unhappy and tried to persuade us to stay...
Oh well, in the end I think that guy was quite gracious about it.

So we made ourselves comfortable at Hey Hey, while waiting for
the main attraction.
hahaa!

Ordered ALOT of food when main attraction arrived
'coz we've CP to back us up!

We had the herbal chicken soup base and a little bird
shared with us that the last time they went to Hey Hey,
they were actually served by our local TV star Terence Cao.

Apparently, Terence Cao also shared with the little bird, the best way to cook the food there
& also little stories about why they served some dishes there.
e.g. the custard dumplings (I know!! it's really custard!) have to be cooked for 2mins for best taste.

The best reaction was from Ena,
when told that Terence Cao is the boss of the place or at least have a share in it.

Ena : Huh? Really?
Little Bird : Don't you see his pictures all over the wall?
Ena : I thought he always come and eat here!! (aka the frequent visitor)

Check out the frequent visitor plastered on the walls.

The beef there is excellent!! Sliced nicely and not the kind with alot of fats and ligament,
on the whole, everything was great.
The dessert, is it called osmanthus(?), red dates thingy made into jelly also super shiok.
We ate till our tummys nearly burst and people from surrounding tables turned to look at us.
*oops!*
hahaha!

And we still managed to open a brand new stomach for dessert!
The yummy brownies!!
They are so thick, gooey and chewy!
Fwah!!!!
I feel like eating one right now!

My favorite is the ones with M&Ms!
*salivate*

Birthday girl forced to take many pictures with her brownies,
until the candle was burned till it was quite short.
hahaha!
She had to wait for quite a while to eat them.
Maybe thats why the brownies taste so good!

P.osh is located at :
#B1-40 Dhoby Ghout MRT station
(Dhoby Exchange)

Hey Hey Hotpot is at :
1 Selegie Road

I'm insanely full from dinner and dessert!
*hug my round tummy tum tum*
Excellent company with good food from Waraku and P.S Cafe
Loves many many! =)

Ena's back and she got me a pink T from Adidas!
Wheeeeeeee!
Thank U! =))

Pictures will be up when I've more time.

It's another happy day.
I've been kinda emo recently, like all the negative thoughts keep coming into my mind
I think it's 'coz I'm keeping an unhealthy lifestyle again.
Late nights (mornings rather...*smirk*) and junk food.

So from Tuesday, 2 December...
till 24 December 2008,
I will begin the Love Me program.

Things to Do:
  1. Cut my hair
  2. Exercise regularly
  3. Eat with care.
  4. Sleep before 1am
  5. Cut down my computer time. (this is the hardest! *sigh*)
  6. Drink enough water.
  7. Eat my vitamins.
  8. Moisturize! (ALOT!! MY skin is rotting! -_-)

Fina Arena Swimming World Cup 2008 - Sunday

New blog, new everything!

Sunday was super rushed. Finished work at 5.30pm, went home put my stuff down...cheong to Keppel to meetup with the Keppel peeps.

We were late going to the Sports School on Sunday (my fault! After classes!!).
Gerry and CK waited for me coz they are nice people. =)
Dawn was supposed to meet us direct instead of meeting at Keppel.

Cabbed down together and watched the last 3 events...(I know!! but still worth it.)

Spent a lot of time taking pictures to make up for missing the other events.
Was calling Emily while taking pictures.
Called all 3 phones and ALLLLL never pick up. Must throw them away!

Tao Li got 3rd in 50m Butterfly.

After the event ended, we took even MORE photos.
Like die-die don't want to leave the ulu-ated place.
Saw a Aussie swimmer with a retro bikini warming down. NICE!
Jeremy wants to know where she bought them.

Random pics of the people around me.

I'm not a very good photographer as I refuse to move my bum from the chair.
I only do trunk rotations.

As we were about to leave, like FINALLY!! We saw superman doing an interview.
And like of course, when there's half naked people with hot bods, must utilize camera right?
Plus I could vaguely hear someone in background say:
Take it off! Take it off!

Yeah...that's why we have the photos above. Whee~
Inspiration, no?

Dawnie missed the whole event entirely!!
Coz of someone else and she was quite upset BUT her irritation went away in Outfitter Girls =)

While waiting for the others to reach Causeway Point in Eugene's car...

Look at all the barang barang she's carrying!!!
She mentally transported us back to Bangkok!
While she was in the changing room, Jeremy kept passing her stuff to try through the top of the changing room door.
Lucky no one scolded us. Coz only 2 changing rooms in the tiny shop.

I like the bug eye sun glasses but really wear for show only, my nose bridge cannot reach.
Need to do plastic surgery! Get a new nose!

Dinner at Crystal Jade Kitchen!!!
All the hungry people deciding on food.
As usual, I'll eat No. 86 : E-fu Noodle with Beef and Mushroom.

While waiting to order...paparazzi my fellow diners...

While waiting for food to come...play with chopsticks...
Someone super-DUPER hungry lo, cannot let go of the chopsticks...

Normally, when we go out to eat, Gerry's food will arrive last but yesterday was an exception.
That's why I managed to take pics of people in their unglam eating positions.

Ellis decided to be unglam all the way and pose like a pao with the food.
Hahaha! =) (Ellis, you look cute tho.)

E-Fu noodle verdict : Rather soggy at this branch.
The toa payoh and Taka branch taste much better.

The porridge that XiaoYing ordered came lukewarm and when she asked to get it re-heated.
So she could eat piping hot porridge.
They only poured in more lukewarm porridge.
Way to go people!!
Lukewarm + lukewarm = lukewarm!! = no difference!

Dinner with Jeremy is not complete without dessert.
But dessert for no reason makes people feel guilty.
So what do you do?

Make up a reason la!

So...today's reason is : Happy Birthday to You and you and You and YOU!!!

Very satisfied with the dessert and sugar rush but now we've to do extra squats, run extra long and swim extra hard.

We had nonsensical conversations, alot of laughs and plenty of pictures to show for it.

While I was concentrating on my dessert...

Don't know why but suddenly...
the Tomato Ketchup bottle was making out with the Chilli bottle.

And I'm on facebook.
Yes, Fiona it's fun. Regretting it already!
If you know me, add me.
